Sauder Woodworking Company is recalling 31 different models of office type chairs, sold from late 2009 to the present. (Versions of the chairs sold before late 2009 may not be affected. See “How to determine if the seat plate needs to be replaced” hyperlink.) These chairs were generally described as Executive Chairs, Manager’s Chairs, and Task Chairs. They were sold by a wide variety of retailers in both the U.S. and Canada.
The seat plates on these chairs have been reported to break. If this occurs, the chair will become unstable, and possibly tip and cause a person sitting in the chair to fall from the seat.
A free replacement seat plate and installation wrench will be provided to consumers.
