Sauder® designs help consumers refresh and renew their
spaces at Spring High Point Market.

ARCHBOLD, Ohio — March 28, 2018 — From cleaning and organizing to simply kicking the winter blues, spring is a time to rejuvenate. Around the home, consumers are updating their furniture and sprucing up their décor to encourage transformation and organization. At Spring High Point Market, Sauder will highlight pieces featuring new finishes, silhouettes and materials to give consumers the clean slate they need to express their style and renew their space.
“The term ‘spring cleaning’ means more than throwing out the old and bringing in the new. Consumers use this time to design their space in a way that reflects their style and organizes their life,” says Mike Lambright, director of marketing at Sauder. “Our new products reflect the increasing popularity of neutral finishes. Products with neutral wood tones, bright metal accents and airy, open architecture give consumers room to express and refresh their look.”

At High Point Market, Sauder is showcasing:

Manhattan Gate prototype collection — Rustic finishes and glamourous metals combine to achieve a sophisticated, comfortable style.
Neutral woodgrains trending up — New Mystic Oak and other light woodgrains meet consumer demands for natural finishes.
New bathroom/home storage solutions — Five new silhouettes in two collections offer versatile storage and organization options for the bathroom or laundry room.
Anda Norr Collection — Light wood tones with low-saturated blues and grays give a sense of calm and simplicity for a welcoming environment.

Manhattan Gate prototype collection

Sauder has designed the new Manhattan Gate prototype collection for consumers who embrace the farmhouse style but don’t want a completely rustic look. This collection creates a more sophisticated home environment by merging glamour with comfortable living.

“We wanted a collection that perfectly balances the farmhouse-inspired New Grange Collection and elegant International Lux Collection,” says Rachel Whitaker, principal designer at Sauder. “Pieces in the Manhattan Gate Collection feature rustic and natural elements with feminine features such as glimmer and shine. They are made with minimal materials and open architecture to keep a room bright and tasteful.”

The contrasting and complementary textures, mixed metal details, and bronze- and champagne-colored hardware give the prototypes sophisticated details. The Mystic Oak woodgrain maintains its natural tone and markings to add rugged, yet refined, characteristics. The Manhattan Gate prototype collection includes an assortment of accent/sofa tables, shelving units, storage and desks starting at $119.99.

Neutral woodgrains trending up

Neutral wood tones continue to increase in popularity as consumers are drawn to the natural, worn and weathered finishes popular in farmhouse and cottage styles. To provide these finishes in favored styles, Sauder introduces white and lighter woodgrains in four of its popular collections: Cannery Bridge, Cottage Road, Carson Forge and Edge Water.

“Neutral wood tones have consistently grown in sales for us over the past few years, showing higher growth quarter over quarter than darker wood tones,” says John Amell, trend and design manager at Sauder. “Consumers are drawn to gray, white and light woodgrains for their raw and simple qualities. Rooms featuring furniture with light and natural finishes are set for a décor refresh every spring.”

Storage cabinets, headboards, dressers, accent tables and storage armoires are available in new, lighter finishes in four collections. They begin at $119.99.

New bathroom/home storage solutions

Sauder adds five silhouettes to two top-selling collections — Boulevard Café and Cottage Road — to offer versatile storage solutions for rooms often furnished last.

The industrial style and moody matte black finish of Boulevard Café and the warm, cozy look of Cottage Road give consumers two options to declutter and organize nearly any space, including the bathroom and laundry room, while maintaining a cohesive style throughout the home.

Products are made from perforated metal (easy to clean!) and may include a lockable cabinet for private storage in shared spaces and an integrated USB charging station for electronics. Silhouettes in each of these collections include a hanging wall shelf, étagère, wheeled bath cart, USB/locking storage cabinet and corner storage tower. Pieces begin at $59.99.

Anda Norr Collection coming soon

The Anda Norr Collection will be available to purchase in September 2018.

Inspired by Scandinavian travels and Nordic designs, the Anda Norr Collection includes light wood tones and natural materials such as wood, wool and woven and natural fabrics. The simple shapes, soft colors and mixed textures evoke a comfortable, relaxing and welcoming feeling.

Pieces feature a lower saturation of colors that reference nature — shades of blues, grays and muted greens — and stripped-back shapes with simple designs and exaggerated radii. The subtle whimsy and play through clever details and peeks of color, strong linear patterns through planking, and curves result in a collection that supports a yearly style refresh and satisfying environment.

The collection contains living room and accent pieces, including entertainment credenzas, coffee and side tables, shelving and storage pieces, pedestal desks, and upholstered seating. Pieces start at $89.99.
